“Oh my aching back”, is a phrase I hear daily. Too much sitting, lifting incorrectly, wearing improper shoes, muscle imbalances, overweight, smoking and stress are just some of the factors that contribute to a back issue. Most issues can be relieved through exercise, stretching and changing some daily habits. As with anything related to health, you want to check with your physician to make sure there are no hidden health concerns.
Basic stretches – repeat each 3 to 5 times – making each movement count. Remember to breathe. Also, when lying supine (face up), place a small pillow under head/neck for support.
